The FSi Radio serves as a comprehensive aviation radio add-on tailored for enthusiasts of flight simulation, particularly for users of Microsoft Flight Simulator X and X-Plane. This application facilitates the control of frequencies across the entire radio stack, incorporating Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) to cater to IFR pilots.
Note: This application is not a standalone product; it requires both an iPad and a computer running the flight simulator to be connected to the same network.
Features include:
- COM1 and COM2 VHF voice radio modes
- NAV1 and NAV2 VHF navigation radio modes
- ADF1 and ADF2 navigation radio modes
- DME1 and DME2, linked to NAV1 and NAV2 receivers
- Active and Standby frequency displays with an instant swap function for effortless frequency adjustments
The application remembers the last mode used and supports up to eight iOS devices within a single setup, allowing for either separate instrument control or serving as backups for primary devices.
In addition to its functionality, the FSi Radio features aesthetically pleasing day and night display schemes. A connection between the flight simulator and your device is established through the FSi Server, which can be downloaded at no cost from http://avioware.com/download.
The preview version is designed for short flights of up to 10 minutes, providing a brief yet effective experience for users looking to test its capabilities.
